Hawaii 2 NC

I had my first prenatal appointment today. It went well, the dr for now is saying my due date is April 7th. I will have an ultra sound next month to really pinpoint the due date. They calculate everything by a 28 day cycle and I usually run about 34, so their little “wheel” that they use isn’t going to be totally accurate for me. So as of now, I’m  7 wks 4 days, but when she was feeling my uterus, she thought it felt a little bigger than that. Which I thought was strange because if anything I thought I would be a little less than 7 weeks. So I guess I’ll find out more on the 19th of next month, the day before baby’s 1st birthday!

We have been having a problem getting our car inspection done. The service engine soon light is on and won’t go off. My DH took it saturday to a guy at church who is a mechaninc, and they tried to do different things to get the light to go off, but it wouldn’t go off. So he had me bring it back Monday, and he hooked a little computer thing up to it and gave us a couple of codes. So then I had to go down to the Dodge dealership to find out what the codes ment. Well they gave me a general idea but couldn’t give me anything specific without running more “tests”. So I took it back to our friend today and he worked on it almost all day trying to get the light to come off so he could do the inspection, but he couldn’t get it to go off. I have to take it to the Dodge dealership and let them do a diagnostic on it, that is gonna be about $75, and the whatever it cost to fix it. Our friend said he don’t think it will be more than $350. I about fainted. By the time we do all of this and get the inspection done, it’s gonna cost us about $500! IF it cost that much to fix the van. Soooo, idk what we are gonna do. We just can’t afford that right now. Please keep us in your prayers, my inspection is already expired and I have 4 months before I get a letter in the mail and get fined, OR untill I get pulled over and ticketed. Please pray we will be able to get this fixed before any of that happens.

Ok, it’s been a few months since I have posted any kind of updates. I can’t say that it was because I was too busy, I think I’m just a bit lazy to sit here and type sometimes, although I can sit here and chat with people, but I guess that’s different it’s more interactive. Anyway, where to start…. I ended when Justin was 7 months old which would have been back in April. I can’t even tell you what I had wrote about before then so I’ll start somewhere in January.

Ok so in January, DH got laid off of work and got on unemployment. He was on unemployment untill just recently, so he was on *vacation* for about 6 months. He recently started working for a linen company, but through a staffing company, which has made things a little bit tricky. We have to fax his hours to the staffing company and no benefits what so ever. So right now he is just working, it’s not the best job, but it’s a job. The hours aren’t the greatest, but in some ways it has worked out well. He has been starting work at 2 in the afternoon and it’s a 45 min drive to work, so he has to leave around 1. Well, we used to always have dinner together, so now instad of dinner we have lunch. In some ways that works better for me because by the end of the day, I’m usually tired and don’t feel like cooking dinner. So lunch has been a little better in that respect.

Well Justin has been growing like a WEED!! He is so big, he will be 11 months tomorrow and has been in 12 month clothes for at least a month now. He is already in size 4 sandles and size 5 shoes. I guess unless you have a little one, or have a really good memory, this may not mean much to you.. lol He has also been walking now for about a month. He took his first steps at 10 months and now is walking almost everywhere he goes! He has grown so fast! It seemed like Gabrielle stayed a baby for a long time, but Justin is growing so fast, too fast! I’m missing the little baby stages already! I will attach a picture of him at the end of this blog post.

I guess this is as good a spot as any to also mention that we will have another baby crying in here soon! I found out last month that we will be expecting sometime the end of March or the begining of April. I have not had a dr’s appt yet. My first prenatal appointment will be this thrusday. I don’t think I’m quite as far along as their little “wheel” tells them. Most if not all those “wheels” go off of a 28 day cycle, and I was running about 34 days, so I think I’m gonna be about a week different than they think, I guess only an ultrasound will tell. Hopefully I’ll remember to come back here and update on that when I get an ultrasound, and get a more specific date.

Hmm, what else can I put on here. We haven’t started school yet, I had wanted to start this week, but DH wanted  me to get “caught up” on some house work things first. So hopefully we will start next week. I wanted to get started early this year because I’m sure I’ll need some time after baby is born. Hopefully I won’t take the whole 6 weeks like I did with Justin. That would be really bad.

Not too much exciting going on in my life, I guess that’s why I don’t blog alot. I just don’t feel like there is much to blog about. I’m not good at writing things anyway, most of the times it don’t make a whole lot of sense and are all over the place. lol Ok here is a recent picture of Justin…. Ok I can’t figure out how now…. I’ll have to find out and then come back and add it.

I can’t believe 7 months have already passed! He is growing so fast and learning to do things so quickly! Just about a week ago he started sitting up all by himself! He started slowly at first, but within a weeks time he had it mastered! He can sit up so quickly now! Well, today he attempted something new for the first time…..

We were doing our Bible stories this morning, (this is Justin’s new play area in the school room) and my back was to him. I was reading the story and all of a sudden Dylan gets all excited and starts almost yelling “MOM look at Justin!” I turned around and was shocked to see him standing up! I knew he had been trying to pull up on his excersaucer a couple of times, but had a hard time, and that was just yesterday, so I wasn’t expecting him to pull himself up this morning! Of course this is the first time he has really done it, so I’m not expecting to see it all the time…. YET! :o) Just wanted to share!

My O My! My baby boy is growing so fast! He has finally got his first tooth! It was so exciting! I noticed it for the first time on  Thursday the 10th. He was crying as I was getting his food ready for dinner, and his mouth was open wide because he was crying (I wasn’t moving fast enough for him… lol) I could see his gums really well! lol I saw something white on his gums, so I stuck my finger in there and *whala* there it was! His first toofie! It had just started to break through the skin. Well by Sunday, it was out enough to see it sticking up! I couldn’t believe how fast it came up! Here is a picture I took today where you can see it a bit.

There is another thing new that he is doing….. He is starting to stand some. Not on his own, but if you stand him up he can stand up for a little bit. Here is a picture of him ……. Oh and he has been sitting up all by himself from his belly too! He has started doing things so quickly! He really enjoys being able to sit up on his own. The only bad part is that now he is so mobile, he is getting into everything! lol Here is the picture of him standing. I’ll update again soon! Hopefully before he is walking.. lol

We got home from soccer today and the kids went outside to play since it was a decent day today. (Looks like it’s gonna rain now) Dylan comes running in yelling “Mommy there’s baby birds!!!!!” So out I went with my camera to see them! I had just looked at the eggs yesterday and they were still there! So I was excited to hear the babies were here! Well here they are!

This boy is growing up so fast!! I had an ordeal of a day yesterday. I thought for some reason that his appointment was yesterday. So I got up early, got Justin ready and went to the Dr. Come to find out that his appointment was today instead! The couldn’t work me in they said because they were too busy yesterday. So I had to do it all again this morning. Well this time I brought Dylan with me because he really needed a hair cut. In some ways it was good that I brought Dylan because he helped out alot after the dr appt with errands I had to run. Ok first the Dr appt….

 Well this little boy has done some growing! He was 20 lbs 1 oz, and 27 1/2 inches long! I had a feeling he was already 20 lbs. He was 19.9 last week. I had thought he was going to get 4 shots like last time, but he ended up with 2 and one by mouth. Dr said everything looked pretty good. He has had a rash, I thought some of it was from him rolling around on the carpet yesterday without any clothes on, and some I knew was more like ecsema (how ever you spell it), he had it on and off since his last appointment. He also has a snotty nose, so she wanted to do a strep test just to make sure it wasn’t strep. She said that strep can sometimes cause a rash also. Hmmm, that just made me think of something… hopefully I’ll remember to mention it to Emily. Anyway, they did that before they gave him his shots, that came back negative so they went ahead with the shots. They also took a urine sample from him. So after all that, the Dr also gave me a slip to take to the health dept to get a kit thing to get our well water tested to see how much flouride is in it. So I had to go there and wait for them to get that figured out, I had to pay $5 for that, the Dr’s office didn’t tell me I was going to have to pay anything. I almost didn’t do it, but decided I might as well go ahead, it would be good to know. Oh, I forgot, she had given me this oil moisturiser thing for it. The sample kit came with a little spray water bottle, and you spray the skin just to moisten it and then put a little bit of this oil on your finger and rub it in well. There is a little bit of a steroid in it she said, but it’s safe for 3 months and older. The Dr told me it’s realllly good. She also gave me a RX for this oil also. So I figured that I would just go ahead and fill the RX. Well, it took almost an HOUR for them to fill it! In that time, Justin was getting sleepy and fussy. Being he just got shots, and it was nap time already. So, I ended up carrying him for a while. My back was KILLING ME! I didn’t bring the sling because I didn’t know it was going to take that long. It was a good thing Dylan was with me so he could push the cart around for me. Carrying an extra 2o lbs for at least 30 mins, was a LONG time! I was so weak by the time we got home. Well when we got home. After Walmart we went to get Dylan’s hair cut, that was pretty quick. Then we went to Food Lion to get some milk and a few other things. I ended up having to carry Justin a bit in there too. The buckle on the cart wasn’t working and so he kept falling over. My arms are probably going to be so sore tomorrow! Oh and our first soccer games are tomorrow! The kids are excited about it.

Well Michelle, you wanted to know about my day… lol That’s how it went. It was  a LONG day. Did I mention we left at 8:30 am and didn’t get home till after 1pm?? Needless to say, I’m worn out! And it’s going to be another long day tomorrow!!! Hopefully I will be able to get to bed early toinght and Justin will sleep through the night. The past few nights he has been getting up between 4 and 6. Ok that’s all my rambling for now! Untill Next time!

Sounds like a strange title right? Well I found out yesterday that this is a name of a bird! With the word “deer” in it, you would think a big bird, but it’s not. These birds are part of the plover family. Don’t ask  me what that is either.. lol I looked up these birds by picture because we saw some  in the yard next to ours. The kids were afraid of this bird because no matter how much noise they made or how close they got to it, it didn’t run away! Well as I looked at this bird, I realized that we have seen this bird before. Last April Jason had told me about these birds he would see at work. They would be in the gravel or middle of a field and how they would act like they were hurt when you got close. He took us to see them one day and thought they were the funniest birds. They had babies at the time and they were the cutest little things. Well, of course after the kids told me about this bird, that they were afraid of (lol), I grabbed my camera and went outside. Sure enough, as I started getting close, it actually started walking toward me. Then it started acting like it was hurt and flapping it’s wing around. I couldn’t see the eggs yesterday. Today when we came home from Church, Jason got closer and saw the eggs on the ground. These birds lay their eggs right on the ground. The site that I looked at today says they like to lay their eggs in gravel because the eggs blend in best in gravel (you’ll see what I’m talking about in the pictures).  So I thought I would share these pictures of these crazy birds. I will be keeping an eye on the eggs, they are supposed to take 24 - 28 days to hatch. They will hatch and be more like baby chicks than baby birds, meaning they will not be as dependant on their parents as regular baby birds are. This should be interesting to watch! I’ll try to remember to keep updating things on here! Here are the pictures I have for  now!

I took Justin for his 4 month check up yesterday. He was 16lbs 11oz and 26 inches! He was in the 85th percentile for his weight and 80% for his height. The dr said everything looked good. He got 4 immunizations, one by mouth and 3 shots. He didn’t care for the shots of course.. lol. He did pretty well though, after the initial crying he didn’t fuss much at all. He even did real good staying in his carrier ( he don’t usually like it much in there for too long ) and slept while I ran to walmart and the grocery store. We came home and he took a good nap and then we went to church and he did pretty good there too. He didn’t seem like the shots affected him too much, which was great! Anyway, just wanted to post a little update on that! Still no news on any jobs, but still looking! Have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Just a short note to ask for prayers for those of you that read this. Those on GFC have seen this request already. Please remember our family right now. DH was laid off of work on Monday. Buisness had slowed down alot, and they laid off a few people all over the company. Pray that he will be able to find something he likes quickly. We also do not have insurance (except for Justin, he still has insurance), so pray none of us gets sick anytime soon. Justin has his 4 month check next week (I think), I will update with that then. Will also keep an update on this situation. Thanks in advance for your prayers!

I have been getting alot of spam comments lately. Has anyone else been getting spam? Anyone know how I can stop it from happening? It’s always about drugs and stuff like that, and all under my “About” page. Anyone else?
